To supplement or not to supplement ?

Updated: Oct 15, 2021

The confusion regarding if we should take supplements is among us, even when it comes to natural supplements. One thing is for sure: keeping balance is the key to everything.

Our body generates vitamins, minerals, and other necessary substances for our body, mind and spirit, however, not all of them. There are superfood supplements, we just need to make some research on them. For example, some important amino acids cannot be produced by the body.

An essential amino acid is one that is not made by the human body and in order to have it, we must consume it. There are a total of 20 amino acids that we recognise. Amino acids are small pieces of elements that our body uses to make different types of proteins. In order to have all of the nutrients available to make complete proteins, we need all 20 amino acids. However, our body only manufactures 11 amino acids and the other nine must be obtained through the foods / supplements we take.

  1. Lysine - is used by our body when we grow and to convert other chemicals into carnitine which helps with the production of energy from fats. - cheese, beef, fish, nuts, seeds, legumes. Best source Tempeh - a fermented soy food.

  2. Leucine - This is a branched-chain amino acid (one of three) and it helps our body make muscle cells, specifically those that attach to the skeleton. Best foods include pumpkin seeds, parsley, peanuts and beans.

  3. Methionine - helps our body to grow new blood vessels. Best foods to increase your intake of methionine include chicken and fish. You can also find this essential amino acid in nuts, grains and beans.

  4. Threonine - helps maintain nervous system health - Best foods to find Threonine in are lean red meats, soy products, organ meat such as liver, most seeds, nuts and beans.

  5. Isoleucine - is a branched-chain amino acid that our body uses to help the muscle cells recover after strenuous activities. Best foods to find Isoleucine in are soy products, lean meats such a fish, eggs and beans.

  6. Valine - is a branched-chain amino acid that our body uses to stimulate muscles and to help repair them. The best foods to find Valine in are soy products, dairy, eggs, chicken, turkey and cheese.

  7. L-Phenylalanine - is converted by our body into sub proteins that help our body to produce brain chemicals and compounds needed for a healthy brain. Best foods to find Phenylalanine in are nuts, beans, dairy products including cheese and eggs.

  8. Tryptophan - helps maintain organ health, such as for our brain, heart, liver, etc. The best foods to find tryptophan in are walnuts, cauliflower, soy and tofu.

  9. Histidine - helps maintain a healthy red blood cell population and can be used under the care of the doctor to treat anemia. Best foods to find histidine in are beets, apples, carrots, parsnips, nutritional yeast and leafy green veggies.

Also, our immune system requires our support, especially nowadays times. Eat well, sleep well, drink well, meditate, breath consciously, get enough sun and take that supplement in case of deficiency. Plant based Liposomal Vitamin C is the queen when it comes to our immunity. Most important- listen to your body and soul. Listen to that intuition of yours - it will tell you whether something is good for you or not. When it doubt - ask your soul - it will direct you on the right path, making the right decision. My personal belief is that you can do anything in life, as long as it`s a WIN-WIN situation: you - and the collective/ the universe. Keep in mind that you should individualize your supplements and do not exceed the recommended dose. As said, the balance is the key to everything so keep yourself healthy and balanced !

Blessings!

You keep asking yourself from where you should purchase good non- GMO supplements?

I strongly recommend you Terra Origin.
